Art and Writing Prompts for Kids
Class experience
In this one-time class, learners will be given a choice of prompts such as "What would happen if a dinosaur went grocery shopping?" or "There once was a pink octopus who lived in the ocean." Leaners can choose one prompt from the provided list over which to create a work of visual art or writing. Students may choose to draw a picture of a dinosaur for such a dinosaur prompt as that above or write a story about the experiences of the pink octopus. Students will learn to express their creativity through pre-selected prompts.
Students will need to bring whatever supplies they need to create their projects. Painters will need to bring a canvas or paper, paints, and brushes. Writers will need to bring paper and a pencil or pen or an electronic device on which to type their work. Students who draw will need to bring drawing supplies and paper. Sculptors or crafters will need to bring what they require to create their work of art.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
