Class Experience

In this one-time course, students will learn about some of the most powerful and influential women in ancient Egyptian history: Hatshepsut, Sobekneferu, Tiye, Nefertiti, and Merneith. We will learn about the achievements and contributions of these Egyptian queens while examining their funerary monuments and how they were depicted in paintings, sculptures, and reliefs.

This class is taught with large images in a slide show for learners to examine details of the architecture and artifacts...

This class is taught in English.

Students will learn about traditional depictions of women and queens in ancient Egyptian art and architecture.

Students will learn about the history, achievements, and contributions of significant women in Egyptian history.

I have a bachelor's degree in Archaeology with several courses in ancient Egyptian art and history.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
