This Art Adventure Club is perfect for anyone who wants to learn the basics of drawing realistic & 3D animals and creatures. Creating new adventures every week helps spark the imagination! No prior experience is necessary, and the class is designed to be fun and engaging for all ages.

In this club, you will:

~Learn basic shapes and techniques for drawing various animals and creatures.
~Discover how to add personality and expression to your drawings.
~Explore different shading techniques to bring your creations to life.
~Create your own unique menagerie of adorable characters.

~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class!
This is a step-by-step lesson, and you need to be on time. If your artist is late for any reason, I will let them in class and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud.

Drawing is something you can practice continually and still find room for improvement. If you’re looking to sharpen your skills, there are three areas you can focus on. The first is the construction or building of your subject; making construction sketches lightly on the page is an essential habit that saves time and produces consistency when drawing the same object in different poses. Another area is simplification, or breaking things down into their most basic elements. Finally, focus on expressing volume and weight through highlights and shadows. Of course, it takes time and hard work to improve your drawing, but following these tips will help get you there! Your artist will build confidence!

~Artists can follow step by step and ask questions. I will give feedback on the student's progress and suggestions to improve their artistic skills. Artists are encouraged to hold their art up to the camera multiple times each class if they want help or encouragement, although this is optional. Artists are also welcome to ask for help at any point during class, so they never have to worry about getting stuck.

~Here are the four things you should know about Ongoing Classes at Outschool.
+ Ongoing classes are subscription-based and meet each week. After enrolling, you will be charged weekly on Sunday mornings (according to Pacific Time) until you stop your subscription.
+ Each payment covers your learner’s weekly access to the class meeting following the Sunday charge; this includes the recorded lesson if you stay enrolled.
+If you miss a class, the recorded lesson is available on the classroom page.
+There is a new option to pause your learner's subscription. This allows you to remain enrolled and take a week or two off. This does not give you access to the recorded lessons missed. This also does not secure your spot in the class.

*All class times are approximate. Class length varies based on student ability and the number of enrolled learners. Classes are designed to run at most of the allotted time.*

*Please note: This is an art class, and I can only give feedback and proper instruction if your child has their camera on and communicates with me. This allows me to see how students progress and ensure no one falls behind.

*According to Outschool policy, all students need to be registered separately. If they are not, they are to be placed in the waiting room until the parent can make arrangements to register the extra learners or the teacher may refund them. We understand the desire for friends or siblings to watch, but if two children participate under one registration, they will be sent back to the waiting room per Outschool policy. One child per registration. It is acceptable for registered learners to share a screen!

* I do not offer refunds or transfers 24 hours before class time. I adhere to the Outschool refund and transfer policy stated here: “Full refund or class-to-class transfer within 24 hours of the class start time.” If you miss the class, you can view the class recording found on the classroom page.

Unleash your inner artist with drawing lessons for young creators!
Do you have a young artist who loves drawing:

Dragons like Toothless from HTTYD or the fierce tribes of Wings of Fire?
The brave cats of Warrior Clans or the wonders of real animals?
Maybe their imagination wants to create something entirely new!
No matter what they love to draw, I'm here to help them learn and grow!

My passion is to inspire young people to:
~Find courage and confidence in their creativity.
~Master the skills to bring their artistic visions to life.
~Have fun and enjoy the process of creating.

From basic drawing techniques to exploring different mediums, my interactive classes are designed to:
~Build confidence and self-esteem.
~Spark the imagination and fuel creativity.
~Develop essential skills like observation and problem-solving.
~Most importantly, foster a lifelong love for art!

Whether your young artist is a beginner or wants to refine their skills, I have a class for them!

My journey began with sketching as a child and working on graphic designs for T-shirts as a teen. As an adult, I have designed and painted larger-than-life murals and now teach art classes to the public. I currently teach weekly live worldwide art classes online. I get in-person interaction with my local events for those in the Houston, Texas, area!

I reside in Houston, Texas, and I am a homeschooled mom of three. (2 graduated, and one will graduate in 2024). And a proud U.S. Marine Mom! When not putting my latest art onto paper, I can be found "pumping iron" at the gym with my husband of over 27 years. My family is very committed to saving animals, and our house is always full of foster animals from our local animal shelter! Beware, you may see or hear a puppy, kitten, or guinea pig in a live class!

My passion is inspiring young people to find courage and confidence in their creations! Imagination is the doorway to being able to express yourself and be happy!
Motto: Be who you needed when you were younger.
