Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this semester-long, 15-week art course, we will be working on an array of art mediums and techniques. This course will fulfill the art elective needed, and by the end of the 15 weeks, students will leave with a course completed certificate. During our time together, students will be more confident in creating, as well as informed of different techniques, definitions, theories, and artists. Each week, I will explain the project that we will be working on by both example and verbal direction. I will use a second camera pointed towards the example project to explain what and how we are proceeding for the day. I encourage questions at any time during the class. Once students have begun their work, I will then talk to them about the weekly artist (historical and/or contemporary) that coincides with the technique and/or medium we are using. I will also discuss the different theories that specific artist uses. This will help to create a more well-rounded experience and curriculum for each student. There is zero tolerance for bullying in my classroom. Students are expected to act maturely, kindly, and encouraging with themselves and their classmates.
