Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
We will travel around the world, visiting all seven continents and the Arctic during this eight-week cultural geography flex class. We will learn about the climate, landscape and animals of each continent. We will visit the biggest cities and the most populated countries. We will roam the countrysides and learn about the environment and folklore. We’ll also explore culture, religion and languages. Week 1 will find us in Africa. Week 2, we’ll sail across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. Week...
Students will gain a better understanding of the world around them, including the culture, people, environment and interconnectedness of the different places on our planet. Students will also increase their vocabulary, critical thinking and writing skills.
Homework Offered
This flex class is for learners who just want to learn more about the topics, as well as students who want to get a letter of competition. For learners who are just practicing skills, homework is optional but highly recommended. For those learners seeking a letter of completion, there is about 2 hours of homework to be completed each week. Homework includes a weekly writing assignment, reading quizzes, classroom discussion and worksheets. See the rubric below for how the learner will be evaluated. For those students seeking a letter of completion. I will provide an assessment each weekend of the previous week’s assignments.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
