Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Advanced Level
This class is comprehensive, and students: 
1. build confidence in their ability to write effectively. 
2. learn to write an effective argument essay with an effective introduction, fully-elaborated body paragraphs, and a powerful conclusion. 
3. learn to use correct grammar when writing. 
4. learn to generate ideas, organize their thoughts, and to think when writing. 
5. learn to use a process that strengthens their ideas, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, voice, and conventions. 
6. learn to work independently, using resources and a reliance on their mastery of new skills. 
All instructors that teach this class are degreed and certified to teach high school English. Further, they all have many years of experience at the secondary level. 
Students have 20-30 minutes of homework between each class. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
