In this one-time class, students engage with kid-friendly examples of ad hominem and straw man fallacies, analyzing, identifying, and writing their own fallacies to share with the class. I follow a model of “I do - We do - You do.” I’ll first define terms for students and give examples. Next, we’ll work on analyzing examples as a group. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are given on-the-spot feedback so they can correct mistakes and deepen learning during class.
