Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their functional academic skills and demonstrate understanding of the questions asked in each academic subject area by participating in discussions with their peers and teacher. Students will acquire new academic vocabulary.
Mrs. Akins is a licensed Special Education and General Education teacher in the state of Florida. She has a Master's Degree in Learning and Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.
Students will think of a question for stumping grandma and bring it to class. It can also be a question about homework.
Learners may need a notebook and a pencil/pen.
Students will not be assessed formally. Badges can be earned for stumping Grandma
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Science can have some unexpected topics come up. Be aware that Mrs. Akins uses excellent classroom management skills to keep students on topic and from exploring any topic that is inappropriate.
The teacher will use kid-friendly Internet resources to confirm answers.
