Class Experience
In this class, I will review the key Algebra concepts needed for Chemistry so you can be confident your learner starts Chemistry prepared. Students will review the following Algebra concepts that are needed for Chemistry courses. 1st Meeting: Operations on numbers containing exponents 2nd Meeting: Writing in numbers scientific notation and operations on numbers in scientific notation 3rd Meeting: Solving literal equations for a specific variable 4th Meeting: Calculating the percentage of...
I have successfully taught students high school math for over thirty years in a variety of school settings. I have Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching. I am certified to teach mathematics in the state of Michigan. I've worked with students who have learning challenges and high-achieving students, and many students in between. I bring these experiences to the classroom. I know which content can be challenging, and have developed a variety of methods to help learners succeed.
I give optional homework for interested students. We will review the homework in class during our next meeting.
Students need access to a printer for guided notes and practice assignments.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
