US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this one-time class, the students will turn on their flashlights to listen to a story about a lady who wasn’t afraid of anything! First, we will have time to share if anyone has been afraid before. Being afraid is a normal feeling that most people have experienced before. I will then read the story with the flashlight and we will clomp, wiggle, shake, clap, nod and say “BOO” along the way! After, we will sequence the story and end with reviewing the story thru music and movement. Scary fun abounds! *My teaching style is organized and full of fun while being relaxed and friendly at the same time. So come be a part of my class!
Learning Goals
*The students will use their listening skills to sequence a story.
*The students will move their bodies in different ways.
*The students will make predictions about what might happen next.
*The students will practice their discussion skills thru questioning.

I have been teaching for over 36 years which has included Pre-k thru 2nd grade and I am certified to teach up to 8th grade. I am also certified Gifted and Talented, as well as ESL. My passion is literacy which includes reading, writing, language, speaking, and listening. I incorporate literacy throughout all subject areas and look forward to making your child’s learning fun and interesting at the same time! As a teacher, I want to motivate my students to enjoy the learning process. I want them to be able to make real-life connections through reading and become critical thinkers as they grow in their learning. I am a Texas girl living in Michigan and I am also the proud mother of an Aggie lawyer, Brandon who is married to an Aggie lawyer, Lesley! They live in the DFW area. No grandchildren yet. In my free time, I like to make quilts, paint on wood, go camping with my sisters, and work on my flower beds. I love the color pink! Finally, I have 2 miniature schnauzers named Cooper and Sawyer! They are brothers and pretty silly! I can’t wait to meet your son or daughter. See you soon!
