Students will listen to an engaging reading of Jory John’s silly story "The Cool Bean." We will work on comprehension skills, and students will write and draw what it actually means to be cool.

Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their reading comprehension by asking and answering questions about characters, the setting, and important events, as well as identifying the central message. Students will practice social emotional skills by redefining what cool means and brainstorming ways they can be kind to others in their own life.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need a pencil, crayons, and a printed copy of the sheet provided with the Welcome Message.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
