Description

Class Experience

The highly interactive session consist of presentations, quizzes, and demonstrations that raises a healthy competition, team building and time management skills among kids. Each session has unique hands on activities that students take part in using easily available materials.
It's a pure science based class that I have curated after 7 years of my experience in space science research. I am a professional astronomy educator, an astrophotographer and an astronomer. Search for extra terrestrial life is a vast yet a curious topic among kids of all age groups. Since we have so many myths and misconceptions related to this particular field, a science communicator in me wanted to burst that myths and let learners know the actual meaning of alien life. It is not something we watch in fiction movies or cartoons. The search for extra terrestrial life started with the launch of Voyager Missions 40 years ago! Hence I created this session which in no ways promotes disbeliefs or rumors about aliens.
Materials Required : Clay/ Play dough, Toothpicks, sketch pen- 1,, Deep disposable cups/ plates-2 , transparent disposable ice-cream cup-1, star stickers(optional)
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There's an dedicated organisation dedicated to this scientific research : https://www.seti.org/ , https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-search-for-extraterre/
