What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We will have an age-appropriate discussion about various polar bear facts. Learners are encouraged to participate, but if they prefer to just listen and absorb information, that is perfectly fine! Students will get their bodies and minds moving through a teacher-lead polar bear hunt. Next, we will read a story: "Nanuk the Ice Bear" by Jeanette Winter. Activity worksheets are included as coloring is encouraged. Your learner is invited to bring a favorite polar bear (or other Artic animal) toy to share during class. If your learner enjoys this class, check out my ongoing Animal Investigators class to exercise critical thinking skills while learning about a new animal each week!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am excited to meet you! I am an enthusiastic teacher and believe learning should be fun. Learning is enhanced for a child when it is presented in a context made relative to their interests.
I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences. I have taught children for over 15 years. My background includes teaching EFL online to learners aged 4-16 as well as teaching preschool.
I live near Seattle, Washington with my husband and two children. We also have a Siberian Husky, two tuxedo cats, two ferrets, a leopard gecko and a crested gecko. Outside of teaching, I love cooking, volunteering at my children's school and traveling with my family. I look forward to fun and creativity with your child in my classroom!
