Ever wonder what, how and why architects design the buildings the way that they do? Want to begin your journey into the creative world of architecture and design? This course gets you started on thinking like an architectural designer!

Class experience

Beginner Level

Welcome to Architecture and Design level 1!  In this first course our goal to get you to think like an architectural designer.  We aim to see the 3 dimensional world in a 2d space.  You will be challenged with manipulating 3d objects on a 2d plane.  To do so, we will be drafting 3d cubes, arranging them relative to one another along x, y and z coordinates before performing boolean addition and subtraction operations on each. Homework Offered
After each session, students will be expected to independently implement comments from our discussion.  Students are highly encouraged to experiment, take risks, make mistakes and learn along the way.  There are no wrong answers, just progress. 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Our CAD software, Rhino3d requires a computer running Windows or MacOS.  Chromebooks , iPads and tablets unfortunately will not.  Please plan accordingly.
