Average rating:4.7Number of reviews:(307)
A real-time adventure game that plays through an apocalyptic event - come decide how you will survive this world with us. LGBTQ+ & Queer players/characters welcome! RPG / TTRPG, not DND / D&D. #PRIDE

Class experience

1. Escape to a world filled with memorable, heart-racing tales. Challenge awaits you. Can you overcome looming obliteration?
2. Build a story together. Support each other as heroes on a fantasy adventure creating narratives that alter the course of destiny
3. Have fun - even when you’ve never played a tabletop RPG before. This game will guide you on becoming heroes immersed in an adventure so that you worry about the Doom and not yourself.
I am a historian, scientist, and member of the LGBTQIA+/queer community (asexual, panromantic; she/her/hers). I teach mythology, science, and pop culture classes here on Outschool.

I graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Forensic Science and a focus on mythology and research. But I have been a teacher of these subjects for over 8 years, working with students from toddlerhood to teenage and beyond. I have always encouraged students to learn based on their own learning styles, so my classes incorporate different varieties of learning, including interactive elements.

I am expanding more into RPG classes as I have enjoyed the ones I have done in the past through my other classes. I love creating worlds and characters for students to explore, and RPGs are a good way to do that, as well as incorporate mythology and science into them.
Access to Google Drive (including Google Docs and Sheets)

Optional:
Two six-sided dice (2d6) or online dice roller (I have one you can use, too)
Paper & Pencil/Pen (or digital writing method)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
The world of ARC: Doom is based on an apocalyptic world. Dark themes such as death, destruction, and end-times will be prevalent. We may face discussions and discovery of sexuality, gender, and coming-of-age; students will also face battles, violence, poverty, and human suffering.

Homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of bigotry are not what our story focuses on, but they may arise as the story develops and students want to discuss them.
I will use the ARC: Doom gamebook to guide our story.
