This is a class for those who want to know about all parts of yoga and not just the physical poses. During this class, we briefly outline the 8 limbs of Yoga and how we can apply them to our lives beyond the mat. We will then discuss in more detail 6 of these limbs. Most people know of yoga as a physical exercise and stretching. But yoga is so much more, it a union of the mind, body, and spirit. * To develop a positive body relationship. * Develop healthy techniques to calm and clear the mind * Develop an understanding of Yoga beyond the physical practice * To build a strong mind-body connection to help relieve stress and anxiety. * Build resiliency to mood fluctuations and help ward off depression.
I am a certified Yoga Alliance yoga teacher. I also a certified wellness coach and meditation guide. I love yoga and I love sharing it along with all of its benefits with my students.
1 file available upon enrollmentPlease also note: yoga is a physical activity and injuries can occur if students aren't supervised Students should have a yoga mat or a towel for class. If you are using a towel please make sure it is not on a slippery surface. Bare feet is preferable as it allows for a better grip. But if you would like to wear socks please make sure they are yoga style socks with grip points on the sole. Please have water available and loose clothing for movement.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
