We are going to use some fresh seasonal fruit—apples to make a super sweet fall treat! Students will learn to measure dry and liquid ingredients step by step as we make the recipe together. Student will learn safety as far as using knives and kitchen utensils. I will post the apple crisp recipe as well as cooking tools needed on the classroom page at least three days before class so you will have time to gather ingredients! Any kind of apple will work, but I find that a more firm apple works better for baking. The student will need to have all ingredients handy ready to measure and prepare together! Adult supervision should be nearby to assist and ensure safety of students! We will walk through the recipe step by step together. Once the apple crisp is in the oven, we will talk about some of the different ways that we could modify the recipe and different ways to serve. Students may have to finish (take out of oven) after class. Students are encouraged to post or send pictures of completed treats to the class page or submit through Outschool.
