US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Three days; three different animals! This interactive class will give students a sampling of three amazing apex predators: Day 1: Wolverine (This predator is a cousin to the skunk!) Day 2: King Cobra (Do you know the one animal that king cobras fear? Hint: it's not an apex predator!) Day 3: Grizzly Bear (Did you know their diet is at least 75% plants?) These animals are some of the toughest on the planet! What makes them so tough? We will find out by exploring all their amazing characteristics. We will learn about each predator's physical characteristics, habitat, prey, life cycle, distinctive traits, special abilities, and any threats it faces. Each lesson includes photos, videos, and opportunities to read and discuss. Students are welcome to share their thoughts, feelings, and knowledge! On the last day, we will have a fun trivia quiz to see how much students can remember about each animal from the week. *Upon enrollment a printable coloring page featuring all three predators and a fact sheet for students to fill out are available. *Other multi-day apex predator sets in this collection: Komodo Dragon, Dingo, and Eagle! African Wolf Dog, Tasmanian Devil, and Wolf! Green Anaconda, Giant Otter, and Orca! Saltwater Crocodile, Leopard Seal, and Fossa! *The classes in these multi-day camps are from my one-time and ongoing apex predator classes.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about three distinct apex predators. They will learn about each animal's physical and behavioral characteristics, prey, habitat, life cycle, and abilities. Students will find out why these animals are at the top of the food chain and what danger they may face, even as apex predators.
