This is a 19-week AP World History review and test preparation class that will help AP World History students be successful on the exam on Thursday, May 8th, 2025. We will review and address any concepts students need assistance as we review all the periods, themes, and historical thinking skills covered in AP World History. The class starts with diagnostic testing, which will inform and refine the course content based on students' needs. The class will be taught using lecture, practice, feedback, and review. Students will have homework to complete between classes that is to be submitted two days before the next session. They will receive feedback on all homework assignments and in-class work. Students will also utilize the class discussion board to review and engage with the content and each other. Students will use "5 Steps To A 5: AP World History: Modern - 2024" throughout the entire class.

- Students will learn how to approach the Multiple Choice section of the test.
- Students will be assigned their homework assignment - the Diagnostic Multiple Choice section with the Google Forms answer sheet

Lesson 2:
Short Answer Questions (SAQs)
- Students will learn how to properly approach, answer, and write responses for the Short Answer section of the test.
- Students will practice answering Short Answer Questions
- Students will be assigned their homework assignment - the Diagnostic Short Answer section with the Google Forms answer sheet

Lesson 3:
Document Based Question (DBQs) - pt. 1
- Students will learn how to properly approach, read, and write Thesis statements for responses for the Document Based Question section of the test.
- Students will practice approaching, reading, and writing Thesis statements for Document Based Questions
- Students will be assigned their homework assignment - completing a Google Form assignment documenting their steps as they engage with a DBQ from a past AP exam.

- Students will learn how to properly organize content and write responses for the Document Based Question section of the test.
- Students will practice organizing content and writing responses for Document Based Questions
- Students will be assigned their homework assignment - completing the Diagnostic Document Based Question section with the Google Forms answer sheet.

Pre-Requisites
Students must be current students in AP World History at school and registered to take the exam on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

I am a certified secondary English teach with a BA and MA in English. I also have an undergraduate minor in history. During Graduate School, I took the following history classes at the graduate level: Historiography, Modern Japanese History, Elizabethan English History, Europe in the Middle Ages, Middle East in the Middle Ages. I have tutored AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP European History, AP US History, AP Government/Econ., AP Language, and AP Literature for over 10 years. I have also tutored ACT English and ACT Reading for several years. The materials that we use is content that I have gathered and used with all my face-to-face students.
