AP World History Modern Unit 1 Review Global Tapestry From c. 1200-1450

We'll be going over Unit 1 of the AP World History curriculum to supplement what is (or is not) covered in the classroom. In addition, I will provide study tools and resources to help you better master the content.

Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Unit 1 of AP World History covers c. 1200-1450
-Developments in East Asia: Song, Postclassical China, Social, Cultural, Religion, comparing Japan, Korea & Vietnam
-Developments in Dar al Islam: Invasions, trade routes, culture, women, and Spain
-Developments in South and Southeast Asia: Political, Religious, Social and Cultural structures
-Developments in the Americas: Maya, Aztec, Inca
-Developments in Africa: African empires
-Developments in Europe: feudalism, middle ages, the role of the Christian church, the Renaissance

Students who attend this class will be provided with a content review, practice multiple-choice questions, and a significant amount of resources to read, use, or watch to continue to fill in the missing pieces of Unit1 (based on the College Board curriculum for AP World History.)
The first half of the class is presentation format (via shared PowerPoint) and students are encouraged to ask questions. 
The second half of the class will use either Nearpod or Kahoot to allow students to participate in the multiple-choice review.
(Kahoot and Nearpod do require access through a browser, however, students only need to enter their first names.)
At the end of class, I will share a document that contains a variety of Unit 1 review materials.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of Unit 1 of AP World History (the Global Tapestry).
Students will identify key events and locations during the time period 1200-1450.
Students will define key terms.
