This course will prepare students for the AP US Government and Politics AP Exam in May. This is an on-going course that will start in February and conclude in April right before the exam in May 2022. Month of February (first 4 weeks) - we will start by covering each FRQ. I will introduce you to all 4 types of FRQ's: 1) Concept Application 2) SCOTUS Comparison 3) Data Analysis and 4) Argument Essay. I will spend the first half of class walking students through the type of FRQ, show students...
Students will be familiarized with the AP US Government and Politics Exam including the FRQ's and multiple choice. They will review content and strategies for the exam.
I am currently an AP Social Science Teacher at a Title I high school in the Bay Area, California. Last semester, I taught 5 sections of US Government (2 AP and 3 regular) and this semester I am teaching 3 sections of AP Government and 1 section of US History.
No homework, but additional prep materials can be given at request.
Paper and pencil.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will give feedback on FRQ's written by the students.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
AP Classroom will be utilized to make sure FRQ's and multiple choice questions are aligned with the exam.
