Student need to submit questions prior to the session for individual assignment help.Class Experience
Are you struggling with an AP Statistics Course? In these AP Statistics tutoring sessions, students will submit questions and receive specific tutoring on any areas of AP statistics that are unclear. Sessions will be taught in small groups and each student will receive individual support for any submitted question. Lessons will be taught virtually through verbally, google slides, and a whiteboard. These session are meant to teach statistical concepts and require active participation on the students part. I will not merely provide test or homework answers. Students will be required to do their own work. My teaching style combines lecture with examples and exercises completed both independently and with other students in the course. Word problems are integrated throughout the sessions to teach logic, reasoning, and critical thinking. Word problems also demonstrate a student’s ability to apply what they’ve learned to everyday, real life situations. Possible topics covered during sessions Topic 1 Sampling and Data: Definitions of Statistics, Probability, Data, Sampling Topic 2 Frequency, Frequency Tables, Levels of Measurement Topic 3 Experimental Design, Ethics, Sampling Experiment Topic 4 Descriptive Statistics: Stem-and-Leaf Graphs, Line graphs, Bar Graphs, Histograms, Frequency Polygons Topic 5 Box plots, Measure of the center of data, skewness, Mean, Median, Mode, Spread Topic 6 Probability: Independent and mutually exclusive events, Rules of Probability Topic 7 Contingency Tables, Tree and Venn Diagrams Topic 8 Discrete Random Variables: Probability Distribution, Expected Value, Standard Deviation, Binomial Topic 9 Geometric Distribution, Hypergeometric Distribution, Poisson Distribution Topic 10 Continuous Random Variables: Continuous Probability Functions, Uniform Distribution Topic 11 Exponential Distribution, Continuous Distribution Topic 12 The Normal Distribution: Standard Normal, Using the Normal Distribution Topic 13 Central Limit Theorem: Sample Means, Sums Topic 14 Using the Central Limit Theorem, Theorem analysis Topic 15 Confidence Intervals: Single Population Mean, Population Proportion Topic 16 Confidence Interval analyses Topic 17 Hypothesis Testing (One-sample): Null and Alternative Hypotheses, Type 1 and Type II errors Topic 18 Distributions for Hypothesis Testing, Rare events, Sample, decision, and conclusion Topic 19 Hypothesis Testing (Two-sample): two population means with known and unknown Standard Deviation Topic 20 Comparing Two Independent Population Proportions, Matched pair samples Topic 21 The Chi-Square Distribution: Goodness of Fit Test, Test of Independence, Test of Homogeneity Topic 22 Comparison of the Chi-Square Tests, Test of Single Variance Topic 23 Linear Regression and Correlation: Linear equations, Scatter Plots, Regression Equation Topic 24 Correlation Coefficient, Prediction, outliers Topic 25 F-Distribution and One-Way ANOVA: F-ration Topic 26 Test of Two-Variances, Facts about the F-Distribution
Learning Goals
Students will gain a better understanding and apply the concepts of the AP Statistic.
