Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the 2nd semester of AP Statistics course material, begin preparing for the AP exam in May, and build confidence in their ability to accurately and thoroughly answer AP Statistics exam questions.
certified math teacher; 5 years teaching AP stats in public high school; completed college board Advanced Placement Summer Institute (APSI) for Statistics; bachelors in math; masters in statistics
No outside homework is required; students are encouraged to access apcentral.collegeboard.org for more AP exam review materials and resources, including additional practice
a graphing calculator such as a TI-84 or similar is helpful for a student but is NOT required - these are approximately $130 USD
This is not a graded course; learning is informally assessed by student response; students can measure their own learning by answering example problems as we go and see if they are getting the answers correct **If a grade is required for homeschooling purposes, please message me**
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
apcentral.collegeboard.org is used frequently to access released AP exam questions; also all material is taught by hand/with charts so these resources are also accessed via apcentral.collegeboard.org; I also teach how to solve problems with a graphing calculator using a TI-84 simulator (in addition to teaching it 'by hand') on my computer which is shared on my screen; some other outside websites/applets may be shared on my screen to demonstrate statistical concepts (for example rossman/chance, lock5stat (statkey), random.org, etc.).
students are NOT required to leave OS platform to access these sites, but I will access them on my device and share my screen within the OS platform.
