AP History Prep & Support Sessions for Enrichment, Collaboration & Guidance

In this on-going class, students will be provided with skill building practice, thematic and enrichment, and support to see them through the challenges of AP World History, APUSH, or AP European History.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Intermediate - Advanced Level
Students may attend any session and share challenges they are facing currently  in their AP class or questions they have about taking AP World, AP European History, or APUSH. 
In addition, Ms. Wendy, a classroom teacher, with years of experience with all three AP History classes, will cover a variety of topics, themes, and skills necessary for success in the AP History class. 

The class will begin in mid July to prep for the upcoming school year. Topics may be modified slightly to accommodate student driven discussion.

August 4: Major Events by Unit/Period
August 11: Major People in the course
August 18: Document Analysis for MCQs
August 25: Document Analysis for SAQs
September 1: Document Analysis for DBQs
September 8: Reviewing Unit 1 AP World
September 15: Reviewing Unit 1 APUSH
September 22: Reviewing Unit 1 AP European History
October 6: Understanding the DBQ rubric
October 13: Understanding the LEQ rubric
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basic skills necessary to succeed in an AP History course, including, but not limited to:
- historical thinking skills, such as comparison and causation
- thematic approaches, such as political, economic, social, and more
- vocabulary terms and usage
-significant people in the course
- how to succeed in the course
-document analysis
-writing for the history class.
