AP DBQ Document Based Question Essay World or US History New Rubric Updates The DBQ essay portion of the AP History exams should be the easy part - if you know what you're doing. You don't even need to know much about the topic! The documents will teach you what you need to know. You just need to know what to do with them. Students will be instructed on how to analyze documents using an acronym that will guide them through all future document analyses. They will then be instructed on how to pull the information together to write an essay that scores high on the rubric. The class will be a demonstration, guided practice, and independent practice with constructive feedback. See the syllabus for the topics of each session. The essay topics will be based on prompts that have been released by The College Board. Students will be expected to participate and ask questions. Please note, there is a minimum enrollment of three learners in order to hold the class. If only one learner is enrolled at the time the course is to start, I will offer the option to transfer to another section (if available) or a full refund of the course cost. The course is also available as a self-paced, 4 session, pre-recorded lesson - feedback from the instructor is included in both styles of the class.
