Maximize your score and prepare for your test with an AP authorized teacher and experienced AP grader for the College Board! I have been teaching with AP authorization and grading for the College Board for 17 years. I can help you understand what graders are looking for in your test answers, as well as all the details of how the test is constructed to help you reach your highest score! This 8 week course will prepare students for the AP ( Advanced Placement ) English Literature and Composition exam by exploring and discussing the themes of the AP Literature course, as well as test-taking strategies. Each week we will explore a different focus theme and unit of the AP test, along with reviewing specific texts related to that theme. We will also discuss test taking and study strategies including how to approach multiple choice and essay questions, how to use your time well, and how to manage the study material. Students will be encouraged to practice outside of class on their own, while class time will be used to discuss broader contexts and connections within a theme. We will practice all three types of essay questions both inside and outside of class. This course offers: -content review -literary analysis concepts -test taking strategy -practice materials -instructor feedback to help you maximize your scores -explanation of all 3 essays, as well as multiple choice strategy This course is appropriate for those reviewing for the AP English Literature test, as well as those we are planning on taking this class and test in the future. Studying the test itself, while also reviewing the themes covered is an effective way to eliminate the unknowns and improve your score. This class is ESL friendly.
