Prepare for your test with an AP authorized teacher and experienced grader for the College Board! I have been teaching with AP authorization and grading for the College Board for 17 years. I can help you understand what graders are looking for in your test answers, as well as all the details of how the test is constructed to help you reach your highest score! This 5 week course will prepare students for the AP ( Advanced Placement ) Comparative Government exam by exploring and discussing the themes of the AP Comparative Government course, as well as test-taking strategies. Each week we will explore a different focus theme of the AP test, along with reviewing specific political science themes and circumstances related to that theme. We will also discuss test taking and study strategies including how to approach multiple choice, essay, and short answer questions, how to use your time well, and how to manage the study material. Students will be encouraged to practice outside of class on their own, while class time will be used to discuss broader contexts and connections within a theme. This course is appropriate for those reviewing for the AP Comparative Government test, as well as those we are planning on taking this class and test in the future. Studying the test itself, while also reviewing the themes covered is an effective way to eliminate the unknowns and improve your score. This class is ESL friendly. Week 1-Political Systems, Regimes, and Governments Week 2-Political Institutions Week 3-Political Culture and Participation Week 4-Party and Electoral Systems and Citizen Organizations Week 5-Political and Economic Changes and Development
