What's included
6 live meetings
7 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. Students will be given optional homework each day to complete. We will review the answers, and students can ask for help during the next lesson.Assessment
Students will complete mini-assessments throughout the course to help them determine which content they need to review further to be successful in their AP Chemistry courses.Class Experience
US Grade 10 - 12
Intermediate - Advanced Level
Are you taking AP Chemistry this fall? Are you ready for one of the most exciting and challenging AP classes? (If you are not signed up for AP Chemistry this fall, consider the following: Chemistry is used to weed out students interested in pursuing a healthcare career. By taking AP Chemistry in high school, you will be better prepared for the rigorous courses you will take at university.) This camp will help you learn and review content to help you be more successful and help you feel more confident taking the course. I am a current AP teacher with over 10 years of experience, and this camp is designed to teach & review content that many AP Chemistry teachers expect you to know before taking AP Chemistry. During each 1.5-hour class, we will learn & review content through mini-lectures, demonstrations, short videos, and fun review games (Kahoot!, Jeopardy, Bingo, and Rock-Paper-Scissors.) Google Slides will be used throughout the lesson to guide students and review after the summer camp. Students will have the additional opportunity to ask questions and have discussions in a Google Classroom during the camp.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the content required for the AP Chemistry exam, as well as its structure and administration.
Students will learn content required to be successful on the AP Chemistry exam. (See the course syllabus for more details.)
