US Grade 9 - 12
Do you know how to write quality responses for the AP Chemistry exam? If not, or if you are looking for additional practice, this class will help you become more confident when answering your Free Response Questions. During this 45-minute session, I will answer questions and provide tips for completing Free Response Questions, learners will complete a timed long free response question (these often have 5-7 parts and are more difficult than the short FRQ’s), and we will grade the FRQ using the College Board Scoring Guidelines. I will then answer questions and provide mini-lessons as time allows for topics students need additional support with. Google Slides will be used throughout the lesson to provide students guidance during the lesson and to review after the lesson if desired. Students are encouraged to ask questions about the AP Chemistry exam and course content throughout the class session. As an additional resource (aka homework), students will receive a short FRQ with an answer key to help provide additional practice. General Schedule: 5 min Introductions 5 min Test Overview & Tips for the FRQ 15 min Complete Long FRQ 15 min Review FRQ & mini-lessons 5 min Answer Questions and Review Homework
Learning Goals
The goal for the class is to help the learner feel more confident when taking the AP Chemistry exam by practicing timed FRQs, using the College Board Guidelines to grade the FRQ, to learn and review content, and identify topics learners need to study before taking the AP Exam.
