In this course, weโll explore the first half of the AP Biology curriculum, focusing on foundational topics such as biochemistry, cell structure, and genetics. Through interactive lessons and practice questions, you'll build a strong understanding of key concepts to prepare for the AP exam. This curriculum allows for in-depth coverage of AP Biology topics with a focus on multiple-choice and free response questions. Students can further practice and review outside of class, and you can adjust the content and pacing based on the progress of your students and your specific class needs. How is your class structured? The course is organized into 15 weekly sessions, each dedicated to a specific topic or unit from the AP Biology curriculum. Each week, you'll engage with practice FRQs, receive detailed feedback, and have the opportunity to discuss and refine your answers. How will you teach? I will guide you through the process of breaking down complex questions, identifying key concepts, and structuring high-scoring responses. Youโll participate in interactive discussions, analyze sample answers, and learn strategies for improving your writing under exam conditions. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is interactive and supportive, focusing on active learning and critical thinking. I aim to create a collaborative environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. How much will learners get to interact with you? Youโll have regular opportunities to interact with me through live sessions (openly/privately), where weโll discuss FRQ strategies, review your responses, and tackle challenging questions together. Additionally, Iโll provide personalized feedback on your written work, ensuring you understand how to improve each time.
Learning Goals
Students will learn effective strategies to approach the AP Biology exam (for multiple-choice questions and how to write coherent free-response answers)
