Class Experience
⚠This is a FLEX CAMP, everyday of the first week I will post a video with a doodle project meant to relax and unwind. You can choose to do the projects at your own paste through out the week or the following weeks. The videos will be available for 5 weeks if you prefer making one project a week. Why doodling? Doodling is drawing without thinking too much. Your pen does most of the thinking for you! Give yourself a break from all those thoughts and ideas that occupy your mind all day, while developing your imagination and creativity. Allow your mind to flow, move and play to the rhythm of your pen in this ongoing anti-stress doodle club. What to expect: In this flexible schedule camp, I will be posting a video every day with a different set of guidelines to create a relaxing drawing project. I will also post a slide show every day with art related to the project for inspiration. Interaction will be encouraged with a quiz or discussion questions about the slide show to keep learners creatively engaged. Learners take the time to complete their project on their own as a mindful one-hour drawing session. Learners are encouraged to post their work on the classroom page to receive positive and constructive feedback. This is a flexible schedule class with no live meetings. Learners will be provided videos and instruction for each project. Classroom interaction: ✔ Video with guidelines to the project ✔ Art slide show for inspiration ✔ A list of questions or a quiz for learners to engage with and brainstorm ideas ✔ Learners complete their projects on their own and post them in the classroom. ✔ Constructive and positive feedback will be given on their projects. Class 1: Zen Squares: Explore basic doodling patterns and textures. Class 2: Miniature and Giant Doodles : Find your doodle style with different formats. Class 3: Encouraging Banners: Learn to use words and typography with your doodles. Class 4: Blind Doodling: Learn to let go of what is out of your control when doodling. Class 5: Colouring Zine : Create your own mini colouring zine by applying all the doodle knowledge you have explored during the class. Class Values: In my drawing classes, I value the process of drawing as much as the end result. I do not give step-by-step how to draw instructions, as I encourage learners to use observation and imagination to create their own version of the drawing activity. I like creating a positive environment focusing on the enjoyment of creating, learning and drawing.

Supply List
A black fine or medium tipped marker is your basic doodle supply. Any kind will do just fine. If you do eventually want to be doodling on your own in a sketchbook or for various personal projects, I suggest getting one that won't bleed through the paper. Stronger permanent markers like sharpies will do this but Microns or Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, or any other artist ink pen from your art supply store should be a bit more clean, and they will also last longer. You will also need 2 or 3 sheets of paper each class and a pair of scissors.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Bachelor's degree in design art and a graduate certificate in art focusing on process based drawing. I have worked for 8 years in a non-clinical art-therapy studio, working with individuals who struggled with mental health issues. I've also spent two years teaching art to teenagers with learning disabilities. Through these experiences, I have become interested in the health benefits of art making and implement this in my teaching style and drawing classes.
