It is recommended that students have completed Ann Ale Haitian Creole Level 1 before enrolling in this course. This is an interactive online course that encourages student participation. Students will learn through question and answer discussions, music and online learning games. Week 1: Nimewo yo. Students will learn how to pronounce the teens, twenties, then hundreds, thousands and beyond. Week 2: Kote w prale? Students will learn all about different means of transportation in Haitian Creole. Week 3: Coucou! Students will learn about useful vocabulary words while visiting a hotel. Week 4: Ann manje! Students will learn about Haitian restaurants, foods and beverages. Students will also identify the ingredients in a simple recipe. Week 5: Lajan ak odinate yo. Students will learn about money in Haiti and we will discuss telephones, mail and computers. Week 6: Nou prale nan maket! We will talk about shopping and different types of stores. Week 7: Televisyon ak detant. We will talk about entertainment including television, movies, music and zoos. Week 8: Amwen! We will discuss vocabulary that can be used in the case of an emergency. We also play a game as a review of topics discussed during class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn useful basic Haitian Creole words and phrases.

Students will need the following items: A lined notebook, pencils/pens, markers/colored pencils and construction paper.

Hello! My name is Kiana and I'm from New York. I love foreign languages, cooking and photography. I especially enjoy sharing these passions with others who have a thirst for knowledge and an interest in other cultures. I have spent the past nine years teaching students of various ages Basic French, Basic Spanish, Basic Haitian Creole and Cooking. A fun fact about me is that I am a world traveler and I can say a greeting in over 10 languages.
My courses are structured around active participation which allows me to determine the student's level of progress. All are encouraged to develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills. Material sufficient for each session is covered and reviewed to foster learning and improve memory.
