Class Experience

Anime faces have a unique set of features that can be drawn precisely using geometric construction concepts that are learned within the grade and age range of this class.

One of the most important components of good science is accurate, precise measurement. In this class we will discuss and practice measuring using the International System of Units, known as SI Units, that help us standardize measurements across all scientific disciplines.
Students should bring regular (letter) sized unlined white paper (computer printer paper is good), a sharp pencil and a good eraser for drawing and any type of coloring art supplies they would like to use (colored pencils or pens or markers are best). This class requires the use of a standard school ruler that measures in either inches or centimeters or both (standard rulers of 12 inches or 30 cm required). The slideshow of the lecture will be provided to all students after the class so that they can continue to review how to use math to draw some interesting artwork. It is **required** that students have a webcam for this class so that they can show the teacher their drawings as they progress through the various activities.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class requires the continuous use of fine motor skills which are generally not sufficiently developed until students are AT LEAST TEN years of age. This class is specifically designed for students from age 10 to 14. Therefore, the minimum required age to register is 10 yrs and the maximum age is 14 yrs. Thank you for respecting the age range of the class.
