Class Experience

Welcome to the anime club designed for girls! If you've ever wanted to rant about an episode, share your latest win on your favorite gacha game or perhaps show off your latest fan art, here's the place to do it!

My name is Ms. Astrid and I love anime and video games. In this class you can meet others who share your interests and understand your level of obsession when it comes to anime characters and games. We get you!

To participate in class, be prepared to verify yourself on-screen via webcam. After that you're welcome to participate off-camera using the mic and/or chat. I will get the ball rolling with some icebreakers and trivia questions if needed. Students will participate in open discussion, and you are welcome to share any fan works, merch or other achievements throughout the class.

There is no set theme for each week. Instead, here are some ideas for topics that we can discuss in class:

- Favorite animes
- Most underrated animes/mangas
- Least favorite (*respectful* disagrees ok)
- Most beautiful character designs
- Vocaloids/Hatsune Miku and more
- Video games
- OCs (Original characters)
- Vtubers, streamers and YouTube channels
- TTRPGs
- and more!

While this is an open discussion class, we also practice listening skills as we take turns sharing. Conversations can get heated when disagreements in opinions arise, so with proper monitoring this class can be a great way to practice social skills and online etiquette. As a classroom we work together to ensure that everyone is comfortable, respected and heard.

At Outschool, all of our classes are inclusive of all abilities and identities and are open to any learner who is interested in joining, regardless of gender. Some of the benefits of creating a space designed for girls is to discuss anime characters and stories that are also more catered to feminine audiences, and to provide a safe space for girls to chat and make new friends with other anime girls.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Some animes and mangas are rated 14+ and may contain mature content. It's also possible that other classmates are permitted to watch or read content that is rated mature. Of course, discussions will be monitored and aligned with Outschool's community standards but be aware that many of these details are significant plot points that will come up in conversation. My classes are inclusive and accessible to learners of all abilities and backgrounds. We will not tolerate any hate speech or insensitive comments, whether directed at the learners in class or the characters on the show. Please review Outschool's community standards with your learner prior to attending class. I require learners to speak kindly to one another and avoid inappropriate language.
