In this on going class students will learn how to successfully draw different girls in the anime style with step by step instructions. We will go over tips and tricks to achieve an authentic anime style drawing. Starting with the shape of the face, we will then go over how to map out where all the features will go and how to draw the eyes, nose, mouth and hair in an easy and achievable way. Each week will be different! We will go over different hair styles, changing accessories, different types of eyes and different expressions using basic anime techniques. We will learn how to draw elf girls, unicorn girls, school girls, cat girls, pirate girls and more! I will give a brief introduction to anime and the girl we will be drawing that week before starting the tutorial and this will be a great opportunity to get the students talking about what they do or don't know about anime and manga. Once we have drawn our amazing anime girls we will even colour them in too! This is a great class for students to practice their anime drawing, learn some awesome anime drawing skills and meet some like minded friends. We will also get a chance to all share our drawings at the end of class and go through one by one. This is not essential but is encouraged! My teaching style is very enthusiastic and I like to encourage my students by praising what they are doing well and sensitively pointing out where they could improve. The best way to learn is through doing and so my lesson will be very interactive and engaging. The students will need a pencil, some plain paper, an eraser, sharpener and coloured pens or pencils, including the colour black. No required experience or knowledge is needed for this class. Hello! My name is Harriet Horner and I am from London in the UK. I teach creative classes, including interesting and dynamic art classes, along with art history classes. They including a lot of making and creating from the students side and most importantly they are very fun!
I have a bachelors degree in Fine Art from University of the Arts London and have worked with the acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor for over 3 years. I also have my own art studio and have exhibited my art work around London and in the Venice Biennale! As well as my colourful art background I have also obtained a TEFL and have been teaching English online to foreign students from the ages of 5 - 12. I love it! But I cant wait to combine my love of art with my love of teaching and believe that my enthusiasm and knowledge in the subject will bring a great learning experience to my students.
I believe the best way to learn is through doing so I always encourage my students to get involved, get stuck in and trust in the process!
