Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students who love Anime and drawing will meet once a week to learn about and draw popular anime-style characters in step by step, interactive, directed drawing lessons. Each class will begin with a short mini-introduction of the character of the week. We will discuss their personality and appearance in the show. Next, students will be taught how to draw a picture of the character in a step-by-step, directed drawing art lesson. Small breaks will be taken throughout the lesson for students to show their progress, ask questions, and get praise and encouragement for their drawings. At the end of the class, we will listen to songs from the Anime shows while we begin to color our drawings. (Students most likely will need additional time after class to complete the coloring part.) Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Lori Costa and I have been an elementary school teacher for over 24 years. In addition, I have been teaching online for three years with private, small group, and large group classes. I specialize in teaching phonics, reading, writing, and art.
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Children and the Arts. I also have my Multiple Subject Credential with CLAD emphasis.
I have three amazing kids of my own, who range in age from 10 to 19. My husband and I love to travel with our kids and make fun memories together. Trips to the beach are my favorite!
I plan to teach a variety of lessons that incorporate music, movement, art, reading and writing to reach all types of learners.
My philosophy of teaching is to make a personal connection with students throughout each lesson and encourage them every step of the way, instilling a life long love of learning!Reviews
