Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will draw characters from various anime such as Demon Slayer, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and More. Students will also be given weeks where they create their own Original Characters (OCs). The instructor will screen-share as he draws the subject matter (anime character), provides a character reference, for sharing drawing advice, and to provide guided instructions (step-by-step) if the class wishes to follow along (alternatively, students will draw the character on their own). The class has a laid-back vibe. Students are encouraged to talk to each other, make friends and provide feedback. Each week students will draw a new character selected by the instructor and from student suggestions. Some weeks the students get to create their own original anime characters, other weeks students are challenged to draw an anime character fusion or turn cartoon characters into anime characters, and sometimes students will get the chance to choose the anime character they draw in class. The class does not build from week to week. The only thing that changes is the subject matter/anime character we are drawing. Experience: No previous experience or knowledge is required. I would recommend this class to any student interested in improving their art skills. This class is a great way to learn different techniques and about a variety anime. Materials: Each week students will need a pencil, paper, eraser, pen/fine liner (optional for outlining drawing). Students may also draw digitally if they have the accessibility. I will be using my drawing tablet with the program Clip Studio Paint to draw our selected character during our sessions.

Welcome! My name is Rocco Sepulveda.
I have been a certified teacher for over 10 years. I have also been a Digital Artist for over 10 years as well!
My classroom is a space where learners can shine creatively, make strides towards their artistic goals, and share their passions with each other. It is a safe space where students can openly be themselves. In my courses students will learn to become better artists as they practice different drawing techniques. These techniques include learning to sketch, learning to break a figure down into simple shapes, learning a layered approach to drawing, learning different styles of applying linework, and learning different methods for rendering artwork.
I look forward to having your learner in my class!
