6 in-class hoursClass Experience
During this multi-day course we will be meeting once a week (with the option of choosing from two different sections). In class students will be learning how to create and draw their own anime characters. We will start with learning basic male and female anatomy to then change them and make them into our own characters. Over the few weeks, we will draw facial expressions, clothing, body movements and foreshortening. When in class, students will be working alongside me to either copy and draw along with my style of anime, or they are free to experiment with their own style. At the end of each class we will share what we have worked on during the class and discuss what we will be working on in the following classes. Below you can see the dates along with topics we may be working on during class: Week 1: Male verse female body proportions Week 2: Head angles and hair for males and females Week 3: Facial expressions for males and females Week 4: Clothing Week 5: Body movement Week 6: Foreshortening

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Wyoming
Hello,
My name is Ms. Elizabeth Suriani, and I am a full-time artist from Northern Colorado. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History in 2016. While at the University of Wyoming I primarily studied 2D art style, including oil painting and print making. I also studied in Florence, Italy during the fall of 2015 where I studied architectural and figurative drawing, as well as fresco restoration.
Since 2015 I have been teaching art and art history to students ranging from ages 5-17 years old with lessons ranging from basic instructions, all the way to advanced classes and color theory for older students. I love teaching art and am currently teaching two international students in Italy and Thailand.
I have recently returned home from teaching English as a second language in Bangkok, Thailand with students aging from 2-16 years old. I loved working with my students and miss them dearly.
On top of being a full-time artist, I have also started my own jewelry business, as well as teaching English Language to children in China!
When teaching, I love to keep things fun and light. I believe that seriousness doesn’t do a young mind any good when learning art at an early age, it tends to discourage them instead. I want to help my students find art or anything they are passionate about and feel like they have a space to ask questions, experiment, and flourish.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
