Young learners in this creative writing and drawing class will have an interactive discussion. Everyone in this small group will be able to share what they already know about the animal of the week. After that, the teacher will share a few facts about the animal in a Google Drive presentation. Students will use the teacher-provided writing template or lined paper to write three BEGINNER level sentences describing things the animal-of-the week does in their daily life. Students will write four BEGINNER LEVEL sentences about the animal-of-the-week. Students will review proper capitalization and punctuation. Students will draw a sketch to go along with their last silly sentence. Students will meet new friends and have fun being silly as they learn. Students with use their imaginations to write creatively.
Judy was a public school classroom teacher for over thirty years and holds a master's degree in Integrating the Arts Into the Curriculum. She understands emerging writers having taught kindergarten and 1st grade for twenty of those years. When her two boys were young, she owned a small group tutoring business that focused on literacy and the arts. She's been teaching animal, art, and writing classes on Outschool since March 2020.
