Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the basics of how to research and be introduced to finding sources, taking notes, writing a paper and how to create a works cited.
History was my minor in college. Writing research papers was a big part of the course load. I took several research classes where I learned how to write research papers on a variety of topics.
Each week students will be assigned homework to complete for the following week. There will also be a discussion prompt on flipgrid each week. Week 1: The assignment this week is to pick an animal and to find 2-3 sources to research. Week 2: Students will take notes from their sources. Week 3: Students will write their paper. Week 4: Final paper and a presentation are due (presentations will be recorded and posted in our discussion group on Flipgrid).
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will be required to get on the internet to research their animal. They can also use books if wanted. Students will need to be able to print a worksheet and take notes on their research. They will also need to be able to type up a paper to submit to the teacher.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Flipgrid
- Youtube
Final papers will be submitted to the teacher and graded on a rubric that will be provided during class.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
