Class Experience

Oh no! Steve the Adventurer has gone missing and a team is being recruited to help find him! He loves animals, and investigators are sure that this holds the key to his whereabouts.

Come and take this fun Minecraft-themed escape room as part of GameCon 2022! Find more GameCon classes here https://info.outschool.com/gamecon-2022. Please note that we do not play within Minecraft in this class.

THE MISSION
It is believed that Steve has a secret room somewhere in his house where he stores all his knowledge about many species of animals that can be found in the Minecraft world. Challengers who join the quest to find Steve will have to find the room and learn as much as they can about the animals of Minecraft before the time runs out and Steve is lost forever!

After our initial briefing, students will have 40 minutes to find out as much as they can about the animals in Minecraft to unlock the door of the secret room and escape. We will all work together as a team, taking turns where appropriate, to investigate the items within the interactive virtual escape room, using their problem-solving and observation skills to find the clues, solve codes and puzzles, and discover facts about up to 15 Minecraft animals (depending on time). They will need to answer some questions on their findings to unlock the keypad and break out of the room before the time runs out.

The length of time that this escape room will take students will depend on their ability to locate all of the clues and answer the questions, a couple of which they may already know the answers to if they have played Minecraft before. If we finish early, we will have some other activities to do to learn some more facts about animals in Minecraft.

*Please note - we do not play inside the Minecraft world in this class, and no previous knowledge of Minecraft is needed. Players may find it useful to bring a pen and paper to the class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Is your child a multi-passionate, multi-potentialite learner? Welcome to KIDS Literally!

Our team of teachers have been specifically selected to uphold our values and approach to education, and to create some awesome, fun and engaging classes for your learners.

At KIDS Literally, we believe that every child is different and that there is not one way to gain an education. We believe that an engaged learner is one who learns best. That's why we incorporate a variety of approaches in our online classes so that every child has a chance to shine.

We are passionate about interest-based learning where we link your child's Interests to gaining Knowledge, Discovery and developing Skills. It really is the best approach to engaging children in every subject!

Our classes and groups teach collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills, as well as STEAM concepts. We combine a range of different interests with our educational approach to deliver learning on a whole new level. We value the skills and lessons that can be learned through play and playing games together. The classes we will be offering will be very, much hands-on and experiential. This might be learning through nature, having fun, using our creativity, developing research techniques, using technology and picking up some important life skills along the way too. We will also bring in approaches from Montessori and Reggio into many of our classes.

*** GAMESCHOOLING ***
Gameschooling is learning through playing games! We are big fans of gamification in learning, so you will also find that many of our classes will include games and learning through playing them. There are so many skills we can develop from playing games, and most games have some great lessons to learn, and students are often more engaged when learning something through a game they love.

One of our specialities is teaching Escape Rooms, where learners can develop critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills, as well as increase their knowledge of a subject!

We look forward to meeting your learners in one of our classes!
