⭐This is a self-paced course. There will be no live meetings. In this course, students will learn how to draw and watercolor paint 6 designs inspired by the animals of Australia & New Zealand. Designed with beginners in mind, the pre-recorded video classes in this course are suitable for ages 5-8. Students will learn basic drawing and watercolor painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete the projects in this course. This art course is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to jump-start their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking. Supplies and materials needed for this course: +watercolor paper +set of watercolor paints +paint brush +oil pastels or crayons +cup of water +paper towels Time needed for students to complete each project is approximately 30 minutes. These are self-paced video classes where students may proceed through the classes at their own pace. Videos may be paused at any time. There will be no live meetings, however, I will be available for questions and gentle encouragement. It is important to me that your learner's experience is a positive one. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, joyful, and fun. I encourage students to add their own details to their masterpieces to make them their own. I'm open to any comments, questions, or feedback that you may have.

Drawing and Painting a Koala with Watercolor Paints
In this drawing and watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes and lines on our sheet of paper. With oil pastels or crayons, we will then combine shapes and lines to create a Koala. Once our drawing is complete, we will begin painting our design. We will discuss the application of watercolor paints, how to change the value of a paint color, and how to create the look of texture. 16 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Drawing and Painting a Sugar Glider with Watercolor Paints
In this drawing and watercolor painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes and lines on our sheet of paper. With oil pastels or crayons, we will then combine shapes and lines to create a Sugar Glider. Once our drawing is complete, we will begin painting our design.
