Please note the current sections are being run as a camp, four times a week instead of one hour every four weeks. Thank you! Background Knowledge: None required! This class focuses on animals most commonly discussed and/or encountered in the United States. I welcome students to share their favorites in order to tailor the discussion to them! We will answer basic questions such as: "What do they look like?" "What do they do?" "How long do they live?" "Where do they live?" "Why do we like them?" "What books are these animals in?" "What movies do they star in?" "Are they endangered?" Week 1: Pets/Mascotas Week 2: Farm Animals/Animales de Granja Week 3: Aquatic Animals/Animales Acuáticos Week 4: Zoo Animals/Animales del Zoológico My goal is to include the animals we are most likely to encounter at home, in our communities, and in the media. I will speak in approximately 50% Spanish/50% English. Students are encouraged to repeat after me and produce sentences including "I have/Yo tengo", "I like/Me gusta", and "My favorite animal is ____/Mi animal favorito es ____." Students can feel free to bring their animals, stuffed/real/photographed, to class to share with parent permission. Thank you very much for considering this class!
