Welcome to a history class all about animals! If you love animals and want to learn amazing stories about how animals influenced history, this class is for you! Each class will include storytelling, pictures, slides, activities, lots of discussion, games, and of course, animal overload! Course Outline: Monday - Man's Best Friend -Learn all about famous dogs that helped change human history like Laika, a space pioneer, and Balto, a dog that saved a town from disease! Tuesday - Meow Wow -Learn about how the Ancient Egyptians treasured cats and stories of famous cats, even one that solved a murder! Wednesday - History Takes Flight -Birds have had an impact on human history since the beginning. Learn about geese in Ancient Rome, sparrows in China, emus in Australia, and a carrier pigeon that saved over 100 soldiers during World War I. Thursday -Primates for the Win -Learn about monkeys, chimpanzees, gorillas, other primates that took their turn in human history as astrochimps in space and communicators with humans. Friday - The Animal Kingdom -On this final day of camp, we will explore stories from all over the animals world. Learn about rats, fleas, horses, giraffes, lions, and elephants that all impacted history!

This class will touch upon the subject of war as we learn about famous animals.
