Students will learn about mammals. On week 1, students will learn the characteristics that make a mammal a mammal through observation and comparison, discussing differences and similarities of animals with classmates. Students will make a mammal out of play dough and share what characteristics make it a mammal. On week 2, students will review the characteristics of mammals. Students will discuss a variety of mammal habitats. Students will receive an assignment to produce a written work they...
Students will be able to discuss the defining characteristics of mammals, the vast array of habitats mammals live in, and the diversity of mammals.
Students will have 2 assigments. On week 2, students will be given a writing assignment to describe the habitat of a mammal of their choice to share on week 3. On week 3, students will be given an art assignment to depict a mammal of their choice and explain what makes it unique on week 4. They may choose to draw (with pencil, map pencils, crayons or markers) or paint their chosen mammal.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be informal. Parents may use students' written assignments to take a grade if they desire.
