Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
In this ongoing class students will play various animal trivia games. This is a non-competitive class, we are playing just for fun! I will ask students various animal related questions of varying difficulty. Ex. True or false: horses have difficulty seeing at night. What is another name for a Mexican walking fish?
I will go around the class room asking each students a different question. Students will be encouraged to participate and attempt to answer their question. This class is meant to be fun, relaxed and also educational.

We will start the class with a couple get to know you type questions (ex. What is your favorite animal? Do you have any pets?) Then we will proceed to our trivia questions.

This is an ongoing version of my one time trivia classes. It combines all of them into one easy ongoing subscription.

Each week will have a theme and are as follow:

Week 1 (week of Jan 15) : horses
Week 2 (week of Jan 22): reptiles and amphibians
Week 3 (week of Jan 29): ocean animals
Week 4 (week of Feb 5): birds
Week 5 (week of Feb. 12): safari animals and more
Week 6 (week of Feb 19): common household pets
Week 7 (week of Feb 26): wildlife of North America
Week 8 (week of March 5): farm animals
Week 9 (week of March 12) insects

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello. I teach a lot of classes about animals and I also teach some reading classes. All of my animal classes are taught about animals that I own.
I love to educate people about animals, animal abuse and neglect. Almost all of my animals come to me as rescues. I like to teach others how to properly care for animals so that the animals can live a long and happy life. Research isn't always reliable as you get different answers in different books and it can be hard to figure out what's best. I am always open to questions. If you are interested in getting a certain pet, just want to learn about different pets or have a pet and want to verify the care is correct, I welcome everyone. I have also trained service dogs and I currently own a trained service dog.
I have taught local classes about the needs of turtles and tortoises, and also community education Sign language classes.
I am a homeschool parent. I have been homeschooling for over 15 years. In our homeschool adventure we use a lot of books and research for learning. We do not use textbooks.
I also have 3 years of college completed. I studied teaching with an emphasis on special education.
