This 25-minute class gathers weekly to allow students to learn from me: a real-life, enthusiastic and excited, animal scientist! This course is awesome for all young animal-loving children, including international students currently increasing their English language. Slides are shared from my screen during class (with minimal writing) to provide real visuals to students. Some photos are of me out in the field! The Class: - 5 minutes, students comfortable with speaking are encouraged to...
At the end of every class time students should be able to tell a parent or friend: - The name of the animal we discussed - List the habitats for today's species - Describe some animal adaptations of the animal we learned that day - New vocabulary related to the species. - OPTIONAL: some students may have a colored sheet after class
No high risk topics or sensitive information. I have a degree in Animal Science from the North Carolina State University where I minored in Agriculture Business Management and Equine Physiology with a focus on Anatomy and Physiology. After multiple biology courses and zoology, I studied research throughout my college career and worked for many veterinarians over the course of 10 years, including an exotic veterinarian that travels the world. From volunteering with the Carnivore Preservation to passionate world-wide travels to Great Britain and Ireland studying the animal spaces, I am encouraged and excited to teach children about animals too!
Quiet place to learn.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
There are no sensitive topics. However, if your child is coloring please guide them with proper use of coloring materials.
