Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Welcome to Animal Explorers! In class, we will be learning about a different animal every week. We will learn about the animal, and explore information like the animal's native habitat, diet, natural behavior and threats it is facing. We will be going on a virtual field trip using wild animal cams, and see the animal in its natural habitat. Learners are encouraged to contribute any knowledge they may have about the animal of the week. The class is also a good way to inquire about the animal of the week. For every class attended, learners will receive the week's animal added to their certificate that will be awarded to learners after the last class (emailed to the student for printing)*** . This class allows students to touch on subject matters like Environmental Education, Language Arts, Science and Mindfulness. This class is an ongoing class for 10 weeks. This is a great class to encourage learning, caring for animals and the environment, and socialization for learners.

At the end of each class, a clue is given to the learners to help them guess, and read about, the following week's animal. Here is the weekly class "clue" for each animal throughout the 10-week course:

Week 1: A mermaid underwater
2: An animal that lays eggs smaller than jellybean!
3: This animal never runs out of sharp teeth.
4: Animals that look like plants!
5: An animal that uses their nose for hands.
6: This animal is a great fisherman or angler.
7: An animal that appears to be one color, but is actually another!
8: This animal has both brains and brawn!
9: An animal that can live on land, air, and water.
10: An animal that can turn silver!

*** Please be aware that teacher will have no means to send the certificate electronically if learner is withdrawn. Also, rest assured that class will occur even with only 1 learner enrolled. Thank you.
