Class Experience

Welcome to our safe haven! In our ongoing class, we will play Animal Crossing weekly, hang out, and chat. At the start of each class, we will share what we've been doing on our islands and discuss any new gossip or theories about the villagers. In each class, we will share screenshots, memes, and all things Animal Crossing while we play and chat. We will have weekly and monthly challenges and contests too.

What sets this Animal Crossing class apart from others is the community that we will build together. This is a safe space to share what awesome stuff we have going on and discuss our current challenges - both in and out of the game! I teach several inclusive classes designed to help students feel better about life. What I've found from teaching high school is that kids are more stressed than ever, and this island escape is a great way to focus on having fun while building valuable relationships and social skills.

We'll set goals together and work towards having successful, thriving islands. Who's your favorite villager? Who gets on your nerves? What are you needing to complete a collection? Who caught a great fish recently? What secrets are still waiting to be uncovered? This game is vast - and it is much more fun to play with other people!

All of my classes are inclusive, LGBT-friendly, and for everyone.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their social skills by discussing their experiences in Animal Crossing and working towards shared goals. Students may also increase their knowledge of responsibility, relationships, and making difficult decisions as part of the game. We will discuss these aspects too!

I have been successfully teaching classes on Outschool for over a year now, I am a high school teacher, and a videogame fanatic. I have been playing games my whole life and talking about them with other people! More importantly, I pride our classes and clubs on their inclusivity and ability to have meaningful discussions and make students feel safe, seen, and cared for.
