Animal Crossing New Year's Eve Party

Class Requirements:
*Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite
*Nintendo Online Membership
*Animal Crossing New Horizons Game
*In the Animal Crossing Game, please make sure your airport is open and ready for travel, that your online play is setup and working properly, and that you and/or your learner knows how to use a Dodo code (if your learner needs help with using a Dodo code, please assist them with this during class time).


CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Happy New Year! It's a party and you're invited!

Welcome to the Kawaiian Islands! This is a place where friends come together to celebrate, explore, and have good times in Animal Crossing! In this class, learners will celebrate New Year's Eve by engaging in a social discussion about their goals and aspirations for the upcoming year, as well as, of course, playing Animal Crossing! 

Learners in this class will first participate in a whole class group discussion where each learner will have the opportunity to create a New Year's resolution about a goal that they want to accomplish for this coming year (like learning how to read bigger words or eating really healthy foods). After our class discussion, learners will be placed into breakout rooms in small groups for a New Year's Eve Party on my island in Animal Crossing. When learners fly to my island, we will have a party (learners can use party poppers, fireworks, and take selfies in game) to celebrate New Year's Eve. Learners are also invited to visit my shops, explore my island, and interact with my villagers. During this time, learners are strongly encouraged to socialize with other learners and make new friends. If time permits, learners will also be given the chance to play fun games like hide & seek along with the opportunity to go island hopping on other learner's islands! Each learner is welcome to share their Nintendo friend code in our virtual Outschool classroom so that learners may friend each other in the Animal Crossing game.
